Create Charts

Charts are created inside a panel. Open the panel where the chart should appear, then select Add Chart or Create Chart from the empty state.

Smart Insights

Section titled “Smart Insights”

Smart Insights provide ready-made chart suggestions for common analytics needs.

To add one:

  1. Open a panel.
  2. Select Add Chart.
  3. Choose Smart Insights.
  4. Review the available insight cards.
  5. Select Add to Panel.

If an insight has already been added to the panel, it appears as Already Added and cannot be added again from the same picker.

Custom Builder

Section titled “Custom Builder”

Use Custom Builder when you want to choose the chart structure yourself.

  1. Open a panel.
  2. Select Add Chart.
  3. Choose Custom Builder.
  4. Enter a Chart Title.
  5. Select a Data Source.
  6. Select the X Axis.
  7. Select the Y Axis.
  8. Select a Chart Type.
  9. Select Create Chart.

The Create Chart button is available after all required fields are selected.

Request Chart

Section titled “Request Chart”

Use Request Chart when the visualization you need is not available in Smart Insights or Custom Builder.

  1. Select Request Chart.
  2. Describe the chart in Chart Description.
  3. Submit the request.

The description must be at least 50 characters. Hawzu shows the character count while you type.

Choosing A Creation Method

  • Use Smart Insights for fast, common dashboards.
  • Use Custom Builder for project-specific analytics.
  • Use Request Chart when your team needs a new visualization.
