Slack Notifications
1 min read
Slack integrations send selected Hawzu defect notifications to a Slack channel.
Connect Slack
Section titled “Connect Slack”To connect Slack, enter a Slack bot token and use Test Connection. After the connection succeeds, Hawzu loads available channels for the workspace.
The setup instructions show the Slack scopes needed by the bot token.
Choose a Channel
Section titled “Choose a Channel”Select the Channel where notifications should be sent. A channel is required before saving the Slack integration.
Use project scope to limit where this Slack connection is available in Hawzu.
Default Notifications
Section titled “Default Notifications”Two notification options are selected by default:
- On Create Defect
- On Status Update
These are a good starting point for most triage channels.
Optional Notifications
Section titled “Optional Notifications”You can also notify Slack when:
- Assignee changes
- A comment is added
- Traceability changes
- Priority changes
- Severity changes
Turn on optional notifications only when the Slack channel needs that detail.
Editing Slack Settings
Section titled “Editing Slack Settings”Open the integration actions menu and choose Edit Integration to update Slack settings.
Sensitive credential fields are masked. Leave them blank to keep the existing value, or enter a new token to replace it.
What Slack Does Not Do
Section titled “What Slack Does Not Do”Slack notifications do not replace Hawzu defect tracking. Use Slack for team awareness, then keep triage, status, comments, and traceability in Hawzu.
