Traceability and External Issues
1 min read
Traceability shows where a defect came from, what it affects, and which external work items are connected to it.
Traceability Links
Section titled “Traceability Links”Defects can be linked to:
- Requirements
- Test cases
- Executions
- Test runs
- Releases
Add links from the create window or from the defect Traceability tab.
Removing Traceability
Section titled “Removing Traceability”Users with edit access can remove traceability links.
Removing a traceability link breaks the relationship between the defect and the linked item. It does not delete the requirement, test case, execution, test run, or release.
External Issues
Section titled “External Issues”External issue cards show linked issues from connected tools such as Jira, GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Linear.
Cards can show:
- External issue title
- Issue key or ID
- Status
- Priority
- Assignee
- Last updated time
- Link to open the issue in the external tool
Link External Issues
Section titled “Link External Issues”From the Traceability tab, select Link External Issue when at least one compatible integration is available.
Select the external issue to connect it to the Hawzu defect.
Unlink External Issues
Section titled “Unlink External Issues”Use Unlink issue to remove the connection between Hawzu and the external issue.
Unlinking does not delete the external issue. It only removes the link from the Hawzu defect.
Next Steps
Section titled “Next Steps”- Create linked defects with Create Defect
- Review duplicate links in Similar and Related Defects
- Audit changes in Defect History
