Filtering & Searching Defects Guide
Quick Filters
Quick filters provide one-click access to common defect views:
Status Filters
- New: All new defects
- In Progress: Defects currently being worked on
- Resolved: Defects marked as fixed
- In Test: Defects under QA validation
- Closed: Closed defects
Priority Filters
- Critical: Critical priority defects
- High: High priority defects
- Medium: Medium priority defects
- Low: Low priority defects
Severity Filters
- Blocker: Blocker severity defects
- Critical: Critical severity defects
- High: High severity defects
- Moderate: Moderate severity defects
- Low: Low severity defects
Assignment Filters
- Unassigned: Defects without an assignee
- Assigned to Me: Defects assigned to you
- My Defects: Defects you reported or are assigned to
Date Filters
- Created Today: Defects created today
- Created This Week: Defects created this week
- Created This Month: Defects created this month
- Due Today: Defects due today
- Due This Week: Defects due this week
- Overdue: Defects past their due date
Insight Filters
Advanced insight filters help identify patterns:
- Stale Defects: Open defects not updated in 7+ days
- Recently Resolved: Defects resolved in the last 7 days
- Long Running: Open defects older than 30 days
- Quick Wins: Low priority and low severity defects
- High Risk: High priority and high severity defects
- Regression Risk: Defects linked to test cases
- Unassigned Critical: Critical/blocker defects without assignee
- Abandoned: Assigned defects not updated in 14+ days
- Recently Updated: Defects updated in the last 24 hours
- Requires Attention: Open defects not updated in 3+ days
- Needs Update: Open defects not updated in 7+ days
- Needs Triage: New defects without assignee
- Ready for QA: Resolved defects awaiting verification
- Awaiting Verification: Defects in test status
- Recently Reopened: Defects reopened in the last 7 days
- Stuck in Progress: In progress defects older than 7 days
- On Hold Too Long: On hold defects older than 14 days
Advanced Filtering
Filter Panel
The filter panel provides comprehensive filtering options:
Status: Filter by defect status (single or multiple)
Priority: Filter by priority level
Severity: Filter by severity level
Assignee: Filter by assigned user
Reporter: Filter by reporting user
Due Date: Filter by due date range
Project: Filter by project (workspace view only)
Test Case Reference: Filter by linked test case
Execution Source: Filter by linked test run or release
Custom Fields: Filter by any custom field values
Global Search
Use the global search box to find defects by:
- Defect code
- Title
- Priority
- Severity
- Status
- Reporter
- Assignee
- Test case reference
- Execution source
The search is case-insensitive and matches partial text.
Filter Management
- Apply Filters: Select filter values and they are applied immediately
- Clear All: Remove all active filters and search query
- Filter Count: See the number of active filters in the header
- Combined Filters: Multiple filters work together (AND logic)
